Our Purpose
​
The Way of the Sword Academy is the only martial arts school in the South Jersey region recognized by the World Haidong Gumdo Federation. Haidong Gumdo, or "The Way of the Sword", is a Korean sword art form practiced around the world. Through training, masters and students will cultivate strength of the body and calmness of the mind to develop the spirit of CHOONG (loyalty), HYEW (filial piety), YEAH (propriety), and EUI (justice).

Our purpose is to share the tenets of Haidong Gumdo and to help our students develop all around health and wellness by learning to connect the body, mind, and spirit. Students will learn basic cutting, correct stances, forms, and self defense techniques that require gradually increased concentration, focus, and skill.
